1st Annual Hills AA Steps Day

All day Illustrated Steps presentations and guest speakers.

Come along and learn about the simple and powerful Alcoholics Anonymous twelve step program of recovery from alcoholism. With visual presentations by Chris and David and sharing from experienced AA guest speakers.

Hosted by the Ferntree Gully Recovery & Responsibility AA Group and presented by the Working With Others AA Group

Cost

The $10 registration ticket includes tea and coffee all weekend as well as lunch.

Program

9:00am - Registration

9:30am - Step One

Visual presentation and two speakers

  1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable.

11:15am - Steps Two & Three

Visual presentation and two speakers

  1. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
  2. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

12:45pm Lunch supplied

1:30pm - Step Four

Visual presentation and two speakers

  1. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

3:15pm - Steps Five to Nine

Visual presentation and two speakers

  1. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
  2. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
  3. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
  4. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
  5. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

5:00pm - Steps Ten to Twelve

Visual presentation and two speakers

  1. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
  2. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
  3. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

  • Saturdays at 8:00pm at the Uniting Church Hall, 8 The Avenue, Ferntree Gully

The program is provided by Working With Others AA Group which has meetings on

  • Friday 7:30am - St John's Church, 1 Burgundy St Heidelberg
  • Frilday 10:00pm - St John's Church, 1 Burgundy St Heidelberg
  • Sunday 6:30pm - Mount Street Neighbourhood House, 6 Mount Street, Glen Waverley
